RDF Power Plant EEW Delfzijl, Netherlands
In the Dutch city of Delfzijl a thermal treatment plant for the disposal and utilization of household waste and externally treated refuse-derived fuels (RDF) is being built. Energy released during the thermal fuel treatment is used economically for the production of power and process steam. Groundbreaking took place on 19/11/2007. Assembly of the steel construction for the boiler house already started in the beginning of July 2008. Before then, the larger part of the bunker, base plates of the boiler house and the flue gas cleaning facility, the base building and the tower were completed on schedule. The design of the bunker, the base building and the administrative building will be implemented with the slipform method.
