22nd February 2010
Further milestone in the construction of the new Trianel coal-fired power plant in Lünen:
The concreting work for the turbine table foundation will be carried out on schedule on Feb. 24, 2010.
The concrete for the turbine table of the 800 MW turbine in the new coal-fired power plant in Lünen will be placed on Feb. 24, 2010.
1,200 m³ of concrete will have to be poured with the help of 3 concrete pumps within 12 hours.
In order to keep the concrete hardening process under control, an extensive monitoring system has been installed. Thus, the evolution of the concrete resistance will be permanently supervised by means of a so-called "curing computer".
In spite of the adverse weather conditions prevailing during the last few weeks, the concrete placing work will be carried out as planned. These operations will be another milestone in the construction of the new coal-fired power plant in Lünen on the way to the planned commissioning date in the summer of 2012.
The increased transport activities caused by the concreting operations may lead to minor traffic obstructions in the vicinity of the site.
Thank you for your understanding.
